The slurping sound as mud sucks your shoe off of your foot
The smell of laundry left in the washing machine over night
The taste of bile burning in the back of your throat when
you wake up choking in the middle of the night
The freezing sensation in the pit of your stomach when
you know this is the last goodbye
Fully sensing you’ve been denied
