The glass shatters,
a smattering of cracks and littering smithereens
Fear seeps in and smuggles safety out between
into the darkest night
Smiter of electric light,
the wind howls triumphant
She imagines his smug smile
as he leaves smudges
on the walls

Oh I love a good storm. It was very windy here today and there is debris all over the road wild and turbulent like your poem.

Oh, this has an impact. I like your use of sharp sounding words in this – it puts emphasis on the violence. A great quadrille.

I really felt the force of the violent nature evoked in your quadrille, Maria. The violent word, particularly ‘smattering’ and ‘smithereens’ give it force, and the sibilance in the final lines, the ‘smug smile’ and the ‘smudges on the walls’ make the ending satisfying.

There are some simply fantastic word choices here:
smattering, smithereens, smiter, smug, smudges
Even all wonderful alteration aside, just some powerful words. So good.

And in her imagining he has her in the grip of his fist. Domestic violence is insidious and not taken nearly seriously enough by any level of the government.
